I had my BJ8 Lucas distributor rebuilt and ready to put it back in the car.
Is there anything else I need to do before I put it back in?
Grease the shaft and if so with what?
Anything else?

Put some engine oil on the shaft(use your finger) and make sure the O ring is on the shaft too.

Did you have Jeff at Advanced re-build it? If so you may have a lubricating cam follower. This gets oiled as does the the screw (there may a felt pad covering it) in the center of the shaft.
