Hi, I have a 1960 Frogeye which has been sat in the garage for many years it is almost ready for the road, now my son (he is 6ft 3") wants to get it up and running the sticking point is we have put a disc brake conversion on the front no problem, what we are confussed about is some people are saying we need to change the brake master cylinder to a 3/4" and up grade the rear brakes. Others are saying you can just jump in and drive with out changing any thing else, I did read somewhere a garage had drilled a very small hole in the brake master cylinder rubber to let the pressure in the brake line slowley release so the disc pads do not bind. Any help would be much appricieated as we are going round in circles. I am new to the forum and will do a new member introduction later. Regards
 
When I did my first Bugeye disc brake conversion I wrote up the process here:

I did change the rear brakes to the later ones, and upgraded the master cylinder.
 
Your frogeye is the same as my original mini. I upgraded the front disc and did not do anything to the rear. I did change the master cylinder but I don't remember the size. Brakes are great now. I had upgraded the engine to a 1380 and the new brakes were a safety addition.
 
Hi Drew, many thanks for this information I will start to source the parts the only issue will be the master cylinder as I live in the UK but I think Moss sell one, will start aurfing the net for the parts. Regards Rob.

I will upgrade the cylinder to 3/4" mainly because my son wants to drive the car.
