google "islip man blows off his arm" yup this genius will have to give up the violin lessons, while shooting off "mortars" as was discribed by news media, eric smith a 36 year old islip terrace n.y. man blew off his entire arm from the shoulder, some people never learn, this stuff happens every year, why, why, why? :eeek:

For the same reason my stupid neighbor was on his front porch with his girlfriend and her two sons shooting his air rifle towards the street and condos across the road. Later they were doing the same in the back yard while there were other kids playing next door.

Now he is angry with me but I can live with that.

"Stupidity" is not a chargeable offense. dammit.

Islip Terrace is right in my area. Here's some more of the story.

I worked with a mechanic back in the 70's that blew four fingers off his right hand with an M-80. That pretty much ended his career at age 24.

The thrill of setting off explosives is not worth the possible consequences. Go see a staged show. They're much more impressive then what you can dream up in your backyard. And most of them are free.
