T-Series Directional Control Relay DB10

Continuing with my efforts to incorporate TD parts and wiring color code etc. in my early 50's S/R. What is the purpose of the Directional Control relay? Can I wire around it?

It's the device that alters the function of your brake lights, and turns them into indicators when needed.

Thanks Roger. I bought the car 50 years ago, I do not remember it having that part. I drove it on the street for several years so I imagine the brakes and turn signals were not working properly. Moss has a solid state version of it available for $90.00. I would check to see if your car is positive or negative ground, more than likely needs to be negative ground. PJ

It's negative ground, it has a "modern" 65 Alfa 1600 engine.
