I have noticed Jacks and newer Sprites have the standard heater core in box front of battery. My heater is located under dash and has a radial core. I have seen other Healeys use this one, but dont find any info on them.

Looks foreign to a Bugeye. Wonder why anyone would have done that modification other that the fact that the original Smiths heaters are only marginally effect in very cold weather?
 
Was prob done to keep warm. Bugeye heaters out of the box are not much good. Mostly need a stronger motor.

Morris Minor or some other heater. Could be TR but I don't know what they look like.
I do know that there were 4, yes FOUR different heater configurations for the Sprites and Midgets over the years.

What gets me is the there is a block off plate, with gasket, where other heater would go. All duct work was plumbed in as factory would have done. Stock blower switch is plugged in with original connectors. It isnt installed like an after thought. The hole in firewall for both hoses is oval in shape with gromet. All mounting holes thru vinyl covered interior panel look to be punched thru and fitted. No hack work. This is a right hand drive car that wasnt imported to US until 1962.

My vote is a TR3. Looks like the one in the Moss TR3 catalogue to me.

Early Land Rovers used a similar item. The Early Morris Minor unit is similar in that it also has a round matrix, but the rest of the housing is totally different.

The round Smiths units can be very effecient if the matrix is properly flushed out, and the operating valve is not crudded up.

Similar but different model, plus uses a mounting bracket not needed on BE. This might not be factory installed in my BE, but if fits too well to be someones home brewed adaptation. There are no provisions for any parts of the stock heater assembly. All cables and switches are routed and fitted correctly to this unit. Maybe an available bolt in unit if car didnt came with a stock heater. What I do like is no large air intake hose or routing of parts around motor. Its clean and plenty of clearance.

I just noticed how much that rattlecan painted heater sold for. Thats more than I have in my whole car. Do a nice resto on mine, sell it and then buy all of the sheetmetal I need to finish the body. Oh wait, that wont work, I planned to reproduce all the floorpans and ribbed panels myself. Already started making the dies to form the reinforcing ribs on floorpans.
