Gentlemen:

I recently purchased two cars, a 1968 Sprite and a 1972 Midget with round wheel arches. Each has a 1275, one of which I want to transplant in my Bugeye.

Are the any factory design differences in these two motors that makes one superior to the other?

The 68 might have a pre smog 12G940 cylinder head, other that either that they are basicly the same engines internally. 1968 also probably has the solid needle HS2s w/o the crankcase tubes, probbly has the old bendable tab stlye of flaots, I'd consider that a plus too.
