TR4/4A Difference between 4A frames and TR6 frames?

No problem, just add a half foot or so to the middle of the body. Tom

I have been reading (I know, I shouldn't do that!), and found that the factory actually built 3 prototype cars that were TR3 body on TR4 frame. They made up the difference by moving the outriggers inward an inch, and they adjusted the body with wider wings. So they took up the extra 2 inches with the bolt on wings, rather than adjusting the middle of the body.

It can be done. Most common is using TR6 frame under a TR250 tub. There are motor mounts issues with going to 4cyl but a little welding will fix that.

I think this was discussed before but would a TR4A body fit on a TR6 frame?

I have a powder coated TR6 frame that I'll be using for a TR250 clone with a 4a body when I get around to it. It's very close to identical with the exception of the motor mounts and a few additional braces that shouldn't present a problem.
