Diff interchange

Ok, after searching and searching I havent found an answer. So here it goes....
I have a 1962 Midget parts car. I am trying to figure out if the rear differential center section will fit in my 78 Midget.
I know the housings are different as they mount into the car a lot different. Any ideas?

Are you referring to the:
1.Axle housing (don't know what years will interchange)
2.differential (all years interchange but ratios differ)

I was refering to the differential.

So thats good news.

By the way what are you guys using for limited slips without getting into super expensive racing units?

I doubt a stock engine would notice a LSD.... That said, I am using a Phantom Grip, but haven't driven the car without it so who knows if it is any better than stock? The cost was reasonable and it seemed like a cheapish "improvement".
