Went to Miami in her last week, funny "pull" on braking: To the left, on hard application (Miami drivers rival third world countries' for "courteous behavior"). Inner puck on the right caliper is apparently just there for keeping the fluid from escape. ARGH. Horsemits pleads ignorance of the condition. I do NOT want to be doing brake work on a big-arse Benz this weekend... Diesela has made HER plans, tho.

ph00ey.

It could be worse, Doc... could be both sides.

Thanks a whole HEAP, Drew. I'll keep that in mind as I bludgeon the caliper t'morrow.

...and if yer ears start t' burn, you'll know WHY.

Where you on Spring Break? :eeek:

Geez, no, Pat! Tho Diesela may have been envious of th' kids and is now in rebellion on account of not bein' allowed to play out. :smirk:

Miata sat most of the Winter (we have *snow*), so when I drove it last week, I had the same deal.

Felt like it had a "hillholder".

Went to AutoZone (the local, cheapie auto parts supplier) and got a rebuilt caliper for $46 (exchange). Took like 30 minutes to swap outside on a cold, rainey day.

Now, with the warm weather (relatively speaking), I can drive the Miata more often (32 mpg) and drive the van (20 mpg) less.

By the way, I drove the MGB last week too...but only around the block. After sitting for ~15 years, the friction surfaces are rusty but hydraulics work fine. No sticking: No dragging (but I'm taking it apart anyway).

The only downside to Spring that I can think of is . . .

MAINTENANCE work!

Had to rehab the lawn mower: change oil; sharpen blades; change air filter/plug; drain gas and clean the deck. About 1 hours' work! :hammer:

THEN, the motorcycle's swingarm assembly needed lubing. About 3 hours.

THEN, yard work today! Yep, grass already needs cuttin'! :wall:

THEN, . . . oh well, you get the picture.

Ain't springtime great???
