Made the trek south to spend Easter Sunday with the in-laws. The old gal got a bit temperamental on the trip, the temp gauge would get into the 90~100°C range at speeds of 70 MPH or above. We just cut back to 69MPH and all was fine... except that I felt like a traffic cone at an autocross! Seems everyone out there thought they were in a NASCAR event. Trip back on Monday was even more crowded, seems the "Exodus of the Snowbirds" has commenced. Saw tags from every state east of the Mississippi and north of the Florida border.

Mass migration. Amazing flocks, interesting plumage. :smirk:

...oh! And if ever in Miami, be mindful of Teslas. The were like raptors; they would appear behind us and fill the mirrors as if materializing from thin air. Then take off around us and dart in-and-out thru traffic like hot knives thru butter!

My aunt and uncle were some of them she was the bluetipped eastern magpie
travaling with the rare white crested lesser eastern hawk

Was always taught the Florida speed limit was the suggested minimum

Oh boy doc. When I read the title I thought it was about an X-rated car flick.

Me too, X rated that is. Thought for sure our esteemed leader was going to jump on this thread.

No such luck, sir. Just a mundane travel tale.

Unlike this one.

Geez, Judy! You're supposed to take into account who posted it... :smirk:

I did but you've heard about wolves in sheep's clothing or is it sheep in wolves' clothing or... Oh never mind, I give up.

You think she'd be cooler going faster. I had this happen in a midget once and same deal 69 and she was fine.

I'm thinking the water pump is getting tired.

My ex girlfriend's Saab 900 had overheating issues at one point. We'd have to turn the heater on to bring the temps down. Only while climbing freeway hills during the LA heatwaves though. I do recall replacing the water pump. On the Saab, the pump is against the firewall. What a pain.

...and they are flocking up here to Western North Carolina....ugh.
