Did you know, the USS Arizona memorial ...

I recall reading that at some point. Despite what was considered outlandish behavior for the time, he did care about the country. Used to work with a guy who was stationed at the same base as Elvis when he was in the army during the 50s. Never actually met him but saw him round the base regularly.

And did you know the Arizona was nearly removed during the Korean war? The navy was concerned over limited spots a Pearl Harbor and that the traffic for the war was somewhat restricted by having that berth, and the one for the Utah, occupied by wrecks. They started the process to remove them but it never moved to touching the actual ships.
