Did you buy a disassembled car?

a pit full of money
That pit, it's hiding under that collection of parts. If you sold all those parts, you'd find it! LoL

I tend to go the other way. Buy em whole tear em apart and never put em together again

54 TR2,
came in lots of parts. it's in even more parts now, waiting for me to fall into a pit full of money so I can do some work on it.

Do you still have that Mk VIII Jag?
Dang! I just realized, that was the money pit I'm looking for, and I sold it!
Oh, wait. that was the kind of money pit that only sucks money in.

This 59 MGA. It is still in the same condition as the date of purchase 1.5 years ago. I have found an engine and gearbox for it though so I am making some progress!

I never bought a car disassembled, but I feel as though the TR3 I have came that way.

I had a running TR3 that I didn't like the color of, so I decided that I would repaint it. Once I started to take it apart, I realized that the car needed alot more then just a paint job. I totally disassembled the car and stuffed parts all over the house. Some in the basement, some in the attic, some in the loft of the garage. Of course, I'm not much for organizing stuff, so everything was just put here, there and everywhere with no labeling. Well, lack of funds and family matters put the project on hold for almost fifteen years. Once the kids were done with college, the money started loosening up so I re-started the project again. Time really clouds the memory, so it was just like starting with nothing but lots of boxes of parts I just bought. The only saving grace I had was that I knew that I did have all the parts...now just to find what I need when I need it! :eeek:

Four years later, and the TR3 is finally done. A few things to sort out and everything will be good to go.

That way, RUST CAN'T HIDE.

My Corvair project. I got a more or less complete bogy shell, IE doors, lids ,and glass. Everything else was in a really big pile. 1 engine, several transmissions, several front and rear suspensions. Now, a couple of years later, a complete restored front and rear suspension is installed, with new brakes etc. The engine is being worked on at the moment. After a thorough inventory I am only missing a starter, and a rear grille. Not too bad for a car dissassembled since "84

My Elan+2 ran so poorly when I bought it, it might as well been disassembled. After 2 years it runs slightly better.
