The "Four Corners" monument (where Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado meet) is in the wrong place.

Well, nothing's perfect! But seriously - wouldn't this have some major legal and tax repercussions for folks living along the state lines?

It took the a long to to figure that out. The same thing happened to a mountain community above Oroville, CA. People suddenly found out their house was on someone else's property. Some found their access roads or garages were now part of the Plumas National Forest. It was all worked out by leaving the existing property lines where they where for over 100 years, and just change the lat long descriptions in the county land files. The properties that suddenly became part of the national forest were ceded back to the property owners by an act of Congress.

But 2.5 miles? That ain't even in the neighborhood.

Nothing is for certain on it yet. Suppositions have been made but nothing more. The monument was placed there in 1992 using then modern GPS technology. The BLM controls/determines state borders and they have yet to comment from what I have heard.

Sounds like it could be a state war starting. My votes on Colorado to take em.

First this marker is in the wrong place, now Texas wants out of the Union....planet's coming apart at the seems!!

So does this explain why, last week, New Mexico had snow ,and Canada had 60F weather?

Maybe that also is why so many Canadians live there in the winter?

Just my rambling thoughts and all!

Dave
