fUpon experiencing loss of flashers on my BJ7 I spoke to Blaine Graham of Moss Motors tech who gave me the following diagnostic procedure.
Disconnect left or right small wire from coil.
attach charger at low input to battery.
create test light from a bulb and socket connected to 2 14" pieces of wire.
verify brake lights work. Check terminal 5 if lights don't work to verify that relay is not to blame.
terminal # 1 is power in to relay. Apply test lamp to # 1 terminal. If light comes on but doesn't flash problem is in flasher
Connect to # 4 and #7, switch on column working.
Check #6 (to R front flasher, #7 to rear flasher (rh)
Check # 2& #3 (left flasher front and rear. If there is power bulb might be faulty.
Clean contact points in relay with fine sandpaper.
I hope I have relayed this info accurately. If still having problems contact Blaine at Moss Motors 800 667 7872 ext 3237.
