I hoped for a 'vroom' post today, but neglected a few things...
Does anybody have a part # or something that I can get a (any) fuel pump for the DGV please? The pre-existing SU pump is in-situ and I forgot about it. Also, do the aftermarket pumps have integral pressure regulators?
I'll be doing a final check, re-torquing, filling with fluids, charging battery and static timing today, I'll let you know....

Baz, You can use any fuel pump you can mount, but I would try to keep the pressure at 2 1/2 lbs max. That's plenty of pressure. A fuel pressure regulator might be in order also.

I don't know what the SU pump puts out as standard anyway, so I will use a different one around the pressures you mentioned. Hopefully one that ticks.
 
Do a FACET search. They make a pump with good volume, low pressure, and not that expensive when you shop around.

Mount it on "bobbins". The same ones the Germans use for shock mounting radiators and such. Benz used 'em for the air cleaner on the land yacht we've got. VW Rabbit had 'em as radiator mounts. They isolate the "rattle" well enuff, IMO.
 
Very well, I'll concede that "zip-tying" them Facet pumps straight to the chassis without damping materials is probably the least isolated way of mounting it to the car (i.e. turns the car's chassis into a Facet pump amplifier). /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
