Gents, the Lighting Switch of my BN6 does not work anymore. Switching the light on has no effect. I checked that there is voltage on the brown-blue cable. After bridging the Lighting Switch everything works fine. Does anybody have a construction plan or something similar of the switch? I want to disassemble and repair it. The workshop manual does not provide any information Cheers, Volker

For the standard Lucas toggle switch if you are very careful you can remove the top. Clean the contacts and the housing, load with high temp grease and reassemble.--Fwiw--Keoke

His is the pull-turn-pull type.

If you're not any any continuity at all, on either circuit, it's probably more than serious than just oxidized contacts.

The switches are inexpensive, so no harm in trying to take it apart, in the event that it doesn't lend itself to reassembly, it won't break the bank.

Hey Volker,
Replaced mine with one from AH SPares in UK - works great and good price.
Regards,
Mike

howdy
had problem with mine too. replaced with 2 from moss, worked for awhile before "side lights only" function failed, inherent hi temps, quickly ferret out cheap materials. i'm told there are hi grade switches available?????
with respect 59er

Gents, it seems that the majority recommends to replace instead of repair. I will try to repair it. If I fail I will go for a replacement. Thank you very much for your opinion. Volker
