I'm putting the finishing touches on the car and I wanted to add some nice details.
Car Basics: 59 BE, 1275w/Weber for now, alternator,5sp, front discs, later midget hydraulics/pedals

First, the car has a Painless wire harness, I find the smoke stays in them a little better. I want to wrap it with fabric wire loom to keep the 'feel' of the car when you look at it. The loom I'm finding is black, the old harness looks tan.

Any leads on finding OEM looking loom?

Next, I'm looking at a MotoLita steering wheel on the AH Spares site. What size do most people end up with the 14" or the 15"?

I've also seen the rear disc conversion kits. Not that I think a 1500lb car needs them, what caliper do they use in case I get a wild hair? Everything else looks pretty basic.

I went with Tourist Trophy from Moss with their 15" with a thicker rim # 489-090 and am very happy with it for the past year.
Can't help with the rear disks, I still need to upgrade by BE to the later rear brakes.

I'm a bit confused. Do you already have the Painless wiring harness? If so, do you intend to use it or do you want to find another option?
 
I had to build my own wiring harness for the Prefect using wires from Rhode Island and some from British Wiring. When finished I sent the whole thing to Rhode Island to braid it. Not cheap but they do beautiful work.

I already have the Painless. I like the idea of having loom woven over it. What kind of turn around time do they have? Cost estimate?

I'll look into those other steering wheels, thanks guys.
 
Just got off the phone with R.I.W. $4.50 a foot for the loom weaving, 2 week turn around if everything is running smooth at there end, up to 4 weeks if stuff is hitting the fan.
 
That sounds very reasonable. Do they give you a choice of colors and tracers?
 
Rear Discs - 90% of braking effort in a Spridget is from Front Wheels, Rear Discs might be nice for Race Track but unnecessary for the street and Rear Disc Kits that I have seen do not have any way to connect your emergency brake.An unnecessary expense. I can get plenty of modulation to lock up the rears just about any time I really stomp on the brakes.

I'll ask when I call them for shipping mine out. From the looks of the website pictures they could probably do any color combo you can imagine. There is a picture of their weaving machine and from what little I know about weaving it's just a matter of loading up different spools to feed it.

I'm going to just have to visible stuff done from the firewall forward and up under the bonnet for the lights. The rest of the harness to the rear is 99.9% covered so I'll just use the black coated fabric stuff.
 
Pretty much any color combination. I had mine done last summer and the turn time was less than two weeks, including shipping both ways. Back then it was only $4.00/foot with a one-time $5.00 setup charge.
