I have been trying to clean up the white wax residue in the seams of a car. The detailing brushes that are out there don't get into the tight spots. I happened to find some "Brushsticks". They are little plastic picks that are used to clean food particles from around braces, in case you have had the pleasure of shelling out many $'s for your kid's braces. You can get them in a pharmacy.

If you soak the residue enough with detailer to soften the wax and act as a lubricant, these things work pretty good. Of course, less polish/wax is better prevention, but these seem to work for me.

excellent tip thanks! almost all my cleaning tools come from the dollar store so, this will fit the budget!
 
If you think about it, it's quite amusing, how many tools we use for an unintended purpose in the restoration and preservation of our cars. The dental pick is a great idea, I use surgical hemostats a lot in various situations and even a special horse hoof scraper to remove unwanted undercoating. I also use miniature CC veterinary animal feeders for lubricating small parts, such as clocks and instruments. PJ
