Northerners will understand. Southerners will graciously refrain from commenting.

Today in Maine

I am a southerner, and I cannot refrain! I have used the same technique post-hurricane. I was the only guy on the block brewing fresh, hot coffee (for all my neighbors too)!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

PS: I even used the same "bench"!! And I have rigged the same setup to a Weber!:G

I just bought one of those same benches! How I managed all these years without it is a mystery!

John, I can identify......of course I understand. I have two of those Workmates, used them as sawhorses when doing my deck this past summer. A compound mitre saw mounted on each one, it made life much easier.

Haven't been tempted to grill out yet, but then I can't even get to it right now.

The above comments triggered a thought - what does the Workmate have in common with a well-known British car?

This is an easy one.

Can I use a life-line and call a friend?

Steel and wood combined!

EDIT:

By the way: the way the pivots for the legs are riveted they grind the rivets to uselessness with heavy use. A supply of stainless washers and pop rivets has prolonged the life of mine far past the original design parameters...

I've got one of those little propane grills also! Its for beach use.

It's never to cold to grill. I was grilling this week durring the blizzard. Had to shovel my deck off to get to my grill but it was worth it.

hehehe. I shoulda had my wife get a pic of me grillin out in the last snow storm. I wanted a good burger, so nuttin wuz gonna stop me. I had to dig down through the snow to find the gas valve on the tank, an dthen keep the lid down so the snow diden't make the burgers soggy.
I grill all year.. much less in the winter, but still once in a while.
I've got one of those table top units.. Got it at a rummage sale 10 years ago for $1. Iuse it on picnics and such. Works good.
I sure could use one of those benches.... hehe

I threw a hot dog in w/ the burgers. First one I've had in about a year (they're so bad for you). Man, it was bliss.

Now - I'll repeat the question: What connection does the Workmate have with a couple of well known British cars? This is easy history! Where's William & Sherlock when we need them?

*SNORK!* That was a near-miss, Steve.

Since MGA's, Morgans and the odd DB-2/4 don't seem to be the answer... should we be looking for "X-frames"?

...or Brit cars built like "card tables"???

The Workmate a well-designed piece of kit, definitely one of their higher-quality products. Now, if only I can find an Elan to round out my Ron Hickman-themed collection....

Good trivia question, John!

REF: BCF post #258621...

I need to be less obtuse next time.

'nite John-boy. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

I didn't answer it. Thought it could be drawn out a bit longer but Steve jumped it fast! He narrowly avoided the need to ship a keyboard south...

I wuz sippin' rum instead of gulpin' CAB. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

No forgiveness necessary. For this or anything else. Ever!

John, I've got that same grill (plus the regular charcoal version). I too grill in the snow, but without the table. Just put the grill on the little stretch in front of the garage without snow on the ground.

Growing up in RI, we used to joke about the RI BBQ, done in winter under the eaves of the garage. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
