Just put the new grommet in the deck lid surround. Corners can be a problem. I laid short pieces of 5/8 o.d. fuel line in the trough of the rubber in the corners and clamped them with small hand clamps. The rubber lay down well after the clamps came off. Not rocket science, but maybe helpful to some.

Just did mine too! I used contact cement and did a little bit at a time which made the corners more manageable.

I hope it's the aka. "trunk lid seal" because that's what I interpreted it as.

That's sorta what I figured. I hope rossco didn't put it on the shroud/body ('surround') side ... it's supposed to go on the lid (I've seen them on the shroud).

And, it has an inside and outside profile to it. I had to request the supplier of mine to pick from photos I sent to him the correct way.
