Paul you're more than right, I do have a very understanding wife to be, she's a keeper. Only problem so far is who gets to drive when we take the 100-6 out! Great idea about stacking. Can anybody give me some ideas on how to get the non-running bugeye up onto the raised area. The only thing that comes to mind so far is a bunch of us lifting it up, doable, but not my first choice. But the more I think about it, that might just be the easiest way to go about it.

Is it really that much for a U-Haul type truck? A car club I was in went down to Norwalk Ohio (only a 3 hour drive), and two camaros blew up - one a trans, one a supercharger. They rented U-haul trucks with car haulers right there on the spot and drove them back to the Detroit area.
 
That's definitely an option. It's starting to look like we're going to drive the Durango down, rent a tow dolly, and bring her home that way. But we've been looking at the u-haul truck/dolly option too.
 
Watch out for the track width on the Bugeye. It may be too narrow for most trailers or car a dolley.

I know it's definitely too narrow for the u-haul trailers. Don't know about the dolly yet.
 
I used a dolly from Mich, to SC with a Bugeye on it. No probs.
 
Different car.

The first, well really the second was restored as a daily driver in Atlanta about 1973. I was transfered to MI and drove her up. Transfered from MI to SC and doly towed her. Went to Iowa to school and drove her out and back. Sold in 1991. Excellent running gear and engine and interior $1800. body except for bonett lots of rust worm from MI winters and the salt.

Miss Agatha came from Texas behind my pickup as a roller kind of.
 
I am not sure if the BE is different, but my MKIV fit on a standard dolly just barely (used one a few times). The tires just made it into each dish.
 
All the same size. Dollys are ok but you get a lot of dirt, ok for a daily driver, but but.
 
There are two different width car trailers that Uhaul rents, painted and galvanized. A Spridget will fit on the painted version. Call and ask what they have. If you dolly it be sure it tow it backwards or with the drive shaft removed.
 
Oh gosh yes unbolt the drive shaft and wire it up against the bottom tightly. Only four bolts 7/16 as I remember.
 
Thanks, Jack - that's great news. I think that's going to be the answer.
 
Just curious, why do you need to disconnect the drive shaft? My understanding was that manuals were fine to be towed on all 4. I know that's a big no-no for an automatic, but I see lots of RV's towing manuals (not that it makes it correct).
