I saw The Dead at the Quaker City Rock Festival in Dec 1968. Also playing at that event was Sly and Family Stone, Al Kooper and Iron Butterfly. Credence was supposed to be there too but they backed out at the last minute.
I was a freshman at Trenton State College.
I remember I took some girl and got to drive her '67 Mustang to the concert. I can't remember anything about the girl but I remember that Mustang pretty well.
(Get the 96KHz version - don't pay for 192KHz - you will NOT hear a difference). However, I have a few of these individual songs from iTunes in their standard def MP3 format and there IS a huge difference in the clarity of the music. (These have been re-mastered too).
