There's probably already a thread here somewhere about this, but just in case ...
Fall begins tomorrow (Sunday, 23 September). Here in New England there are some fantastic day trips on our wonderful two lane blacktops. All between 45 and 55mph.
Here's one I enjoy:
From Windham Connecticut, take Rt 32 north.
Follow Rt 32 to Ware, Massachusetts.
Rt 9 west to US 202 north.
Drive along Quabbin Reservoir (beautiful!) to Rt 122 in North New Salem.
Rt 122 east to Petersham.
Rt 32A south back to Ware.
Rt 9 east from Ware to Rt 49 south to Sturbridge.
Rt 20 west from Sturbridge to Rt 19 south.
Rt 19 south to Rt 32 south and back to Windham.
All in Connecticut's "Quiet Corner" and Massachusetts' "Pioneer Valley". And keep your eyes open for local cider mills, farm stands, and ice cream shops.
So what are some of your favorite area drives?
Tom
