Day of Triumph Update

Well, it was a beautiful hot, sunny day and Wayne and I did make it to represent the BCF in Brookline, MA. Where was everyone else??

The turnout was just great. We counted over 33 TR-6's alone!! By far the most popular car there, but not so in the past. Where have all of these owners been all of these years? Last year we only had about 18. Anyhow, the pics that I took are here: https://www.74tr6.com/netphoto.htm

Also, this is Wayne and me in front of his sweet Magenta TR6. We thought that he was alone in the universe, but several others showed up today including a frame off resto in that color that took first place in the 74 and up TR-6 class. Wayne and I didn't even place in the top three as the competition was very tough this year.

Oh, in case you haven't guessed, I'm the handsome guy on the left:

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Glad you had a good time. Sorry ya didn't win. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Jerry, I didn't really go there expecting to win anything, so no disappointment on my part. There were a ton of people (non owners) visiting and asking questions about the cars. Nearly everyone was posing with cars and kids because they all seemed to have digital cameras. It was really great to see such interest in our hobby. Many new owners were there as well as those who were looking for info on joining the club, which was really good to see.

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Paul & others:

Sorry I did not catch up with you, I was hanging out talking with Rob T, who won a 1st with his very nice 250.

It was a beautiful day, some incentive for me to get my seats back in & car on the road!

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Gary, I'm really sorry that Wayne and I didn't get to meet you guys either. I didn't know that you were there and probably walked right by you when I was filling out my ballot. Like a dope, I never noticed the name of the owner of the 250 that I voted for or I would have asked if Rob was from the forum. I passed out all of my BCF cards, so hopefully, we'll see some new faces here soon.

Get those seats in so that you can make the Lobster Run on Sept. 9 with NET. See you then!!!

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Theres a very nice TR6 in that purple around here, he's even got a matching factory hardtop!

Re: Day of Triumph Update

If this is Rob's 250, I have this picture in a high quality digital version that looks beautiful. I'll email it to him if it's his car.

Hi Paul.

Sorry I didn't see you there. No, the posted picture is of Steve (Linquist's?) TR I think - but thanks. Mine was the other green one that was there (only 3 TR250's - so guarenteed a place in the category). I didn't see any pictures of mine in the ones you had posted, and unfortunately I did not bring my camera. Oh well.

Great day, and thanks to all the folks from NET and MOT that organized it.

See you again soon I hope,

Rob.

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Well, let's put it this way. I did take a picture of everyone's car at the show. However, some idiot, yet to be named, set the camera on the wrong setting for the last half of them and did not discover the problem and blurry photos until he got home. Search for responsible idiot continues, along with hopes of a good pic of your car.

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Sounds like it was a BLAST!
sorry we didnt make it out, we wanted to get an early start but ran into a snag with my clutch slave cyl. I ended up replacing the part but by the time it was fixed it was already 11:00am, kinda tough trying to talk the wife into taking a 3hr ride to Boston at that point.
Oh well I hope to see everyone in Manchester Ct in Sept. anyway.

Great Pix!!!!

Re: Day of Triumph Update

What's up in Manchester and exactly when? I don't have anything listed on that event.

Re: Day of Triumph Update

That's the day after the Lobster Run in Maine. Sounds interesting and I just may plan to be there. Thansk you for the info!

Re: Day of Triumph Update

I have some of your's Rob, I'll post when I get home.

Re: Day of Triumph Update

Since you guys are planning into Sept, you must do the Brit Invasion in Stowe, esp since Triumph is the featured marque!

It did it 4-5 times early 2000's when I was running my Land Rover.

Great time, good folks.

Re: Day of Triumph Update

I don't know if my wife and I can get away for that one. We did book our rooms for the Cape Cod Club's annual trip to Falmouth at the end of September for three days. That's always a great trip.

I'm hoping that we can get to Stowe as well this year.
