My daughter just got a Lenovo laptop with Windows7.
I've never used this OS before, so I don't know, but what happened is that she installed Sims3 that she's had for a while (read, slightly older software) and it came up with a strange graphics problem.

My daughter is not amused!

I would doubt that the problem is unique to her computer, just Win-7. I have a lot of older photo enhancement programs and most won't work properly in Win-7. Some won't work in Vista either. I'm surprised she doesn't get a compatibility flag pop up when she opens the program. A lot of older games won't work in Vista or Win-7. You have to up grade the programs and basically trash the older ones, unless you have an older computer to run them on. PJ

I haven't tried it yet but if you run Win7 ultimate edition you can download for free what's effectively an XP emulation that's supposed to allow you to run older non compatible software.

If it is actually a compatibility problem, you can try running it in "compatibility mode" all the way back to WIN95. right click on the icon, open properties and go to the compatibility tab.
