Datsun 210 trans question

Jim
I have some of those TO bearing carriers and fill plugs.
I'll send you one of each- need anything else?
BillM

Bill, Thanks for the response. The person I bought the 210 Tranny from is checking to make sure he doesn't have those parts in his garage. I'll get back to you tomorrow after I hear back from him. Thanks again. Was really worried I had bought a boat anchor.

Well you still may have, got a boat?

Only one boat now and wife is already taling about the SeaRay coming out of storage. It's been a long winter and still a long way to go before water is warm enough for her to get up on her slalom ski. I'm just trying to fit in going to Toronto to pick up Bugsy II between kitchen remodeling to finish, Bathroom remodel to start, Spring outside projects for both house and lake cottage, and then the dam_ grass will need cutting. Somewhere in there I need ot get garage organized so Bugsy II can come home. April 6 Road Trip to Toronto is locked in.

Jim, very very cool and awesome.
I hope to wrap up my never ending bathroom reconstruction so I can get some time in the shed with the newest addition to our family of Spridgets.

Obviously SWMBO does not organize the priorities in your house. Rick B and I understand that we have priorities but those priorities change constantly on the whims of SWMBO. Happy Wife, Happy Life. That sums it all up. Our LBC fetishes are simply tolerated and in order to continue "detente" it's back to SWMBO.

So back to the trans, I drove it for a bit today, and when shifting up or down into second, I get a whiny strange noise. And downshift into 1st is a bit grindy. Safe to assume a rebuild is in order for the "rebuit" trans?

Bill.

Got a picture of the throwout bearing carrier. He needs to know what he's looking for in the garage. I've got a shifter, clutch fork, big spring, and the shaft coming out of the tranny and nothing else other than a spare Spridget Driveshaft. Will need a Datsun Yoke, not sure if you or Gerard provide with a kit or I still need one of those ot cut up.

HI Jim,

I supply you with a new yoke and a premium U-joint. Not Datsun yoke needed. The carrier looks like this:

When I went through my dogleg-style Datsun box before putting it in my street BE, I was able to get bearings and seals but not synchros. So I swapped the high-use synchros (2nd and 3rd) with the low-use ones (4th and 5th), checked the clearances and put it together. Works fine - though the amount of time spent working on the racer means I get to drive the BE only once or twice a year -
