dashpot oil

I've a question that I know someone has the answer to. What happens to the oil that I put in the dashpot? It always seems to be empty. Every time I fill it and drive even a short way, when I check it again and it's empty. I can't really see any difference in the performance, one way or the other. I've been using 30 wt. oil in it. I'm very tempted to just ignore it and "drive it like I stole it."

That's the OTHER reason SU's are so much more reliable than Zed-S units. First one is the diaphragm and its habit of "pin-hole" failure.

Disclaimer: Just my opinion. When they're (ZS's) right there's not much difference.
