Dashboard Light Question

when I reinstalled the dash, all the dash lights were replaced and bright. Tried the headlights tonight with the lights off in the garage and they barely illuminate the gauges. I can't image they were this dim new were they?

any ideas?

You don't have the rheostat hooked up do you?

yes I do - shouldn't I?

Those lights really are not that bright and only work well when its completely dark. I don't have a rheostat on mine just the tiny toggle switch that came with it. If you didn't have the motor running and you had the headlights on then they will be even dimmer.

Do you have some reason you want the rheostat connected?
I mean, do you want your dash lights to be dimmer for some reason?
