Yep - my cell is the small window just above the radiator cap. On Tuesdays the car's owner tosses me a bright shining penny and some freshly roasted peanuts.

I love the GPS speedo in the center of the dash, between the analog gauges. They've come a long way, some good and some not so good in my opinion. The bad, everything goes through a computer and we all know what that means! PJ

My Ford Escape has the changeable “pods” on the sides of the main display pretty cool.
however the darn car has a mind of its own on occasion
three times now I have been walking to the house after exiting the car and could hear my radio in the car!
opened the door and it quit
key was in my hand ...

another strange gremlin was on 2 occasions the car started on its own when the key was in the ignition not turned just inserted as I opened the garage door
One more time and back to the dealer she e darn thing has 8,000 miles on it

My Subaru has that changing display feature. I think I've used it twice in almost 3 years.
My lease is up in May. Still debating what to do or get. I want to keep my payments under $300 a month. Currently paying $283.69.
 
Let's see - every year we get more features that we never/hardly use. Sounds like MS Office, eh? Lots of fun to play with at first, but then the novelty gets old.

Next step - cable company will add another 10 stations to the Basic service, and raise the monthly charge. Not that anyone really wanted or requested the new stations.

Not sure what you want, but VW is heavily discounting last year's cars, as the the 2018 warranty is much better. My brother just bought a 2017 VW alltrack for 19k; sticker was 26. The savings well offset the reduced warranty! (Downside, he had to drive half-way across the country for a manual transmission.)
 
We've had bad luck with VWs. I've had five; 2 Beetles, 2 Rabbits and a Dasher. All broke down at least once except the first Rabbit. Second Rabbit blew intermediate shaft and was junked. Daughter had a Passat that gave her no end of trouble. They drive nice though.
 
My daughter had an older Beetle for several years until a Dodge going 35 mph rear-ended it at a red light. She just bought a New Beetle (used) about a year ago. Wife is the second owner of a Super Beetle since '94. I don't know much about the newer VWs but the beauty of the older ones is they are simple, cheap and easy to repair, much like our beloved LBCs (but probably more reliable).

We have a 2002 beetle and while we had some initial issues with build quality (can't tell you how many top mount brake lights we went through - and the plastic gets brittle - and foam perpetually flies out of the defrst vent) OTOH we can't kill it - 150000 miles - and this morning we took it to church because the check engine light is back on on her Mini.

Currently driving with the check engine light (air hose) and the air bag light (frayed wire in the seatbelt latch) but it just keeps going and going and going - and, body still looks good - no rust.
 
I've already got emails from Honda and Toyota - they know that my lease is coming due and want me to jump ship. My son is pressing me to lease a Mazda 6. His wife is on her 2nd. He's now driving a Genesis. Perfect car for commuting between Boca and Orlando each week.He had a BMW SUV but got scared off by the repair costs. His Alfa is in storage. No time to drive it. Maybe I'll take it off his hands. My TR6 is getting lonely.
