Dashboard air vent grills

Here is a pretty dumb question.

On a TR4A, do the air vent grills mount to the metal dash and then just show through the wood dash? Nothing mounts to the wood dash directly?

That's correct. The chrome screws hold the wood dash tight to the steel face, and to the plastic frames of the grills. That's all there is to it. Simple and long-lasting.
