I have a '68 GT with a cracked dash (no surprise after 40+ years). I'm familiar with the caps that can be used to cover the cracks in the top, but I have more cracks on the face around the gauges.
On another forum there is a recent posting where someone has used the combination of 3M epoxy, Dupli-color truck bedliner, and SEM rubber bumper paint to repair cracks and re-paint the entire dash. I also found another posting of this combination someplace on the I'net.
Has anyone used this, or another method, and how well does it last? I have thought that just patching will still leave room for other cracks to pop up in the old, unrepaired areas. Is this a way to "renew" or reinforce the entire thing?
I have been planning to replace the dash, either with a complete cover, or a different year of dash, something that I like better than the pillow dash. But I have more time than money, so if I can repair it and it will last, I would consider repair.
