Dash overlay

Hi

I am in need of replacing dash cover, has anyone replaced just the top or the complete cover. I was wondering if they came with the foam backing or just the skin. Any comments on this and who to buy from is appreciated.

Thankyou

I replaced mine and it was just the skin went on over the existing cracked top only. Moss has a kit on page 94 that has the foam and everything that goes on the steel frame but below that is a dash top repair panel. I assume that is what I got but it has been so long I don't remember. Mine is a '72 and is the same dash you have.
OK, I just looked at the Victoria British Limited catalog and they have what I got on page 82. #8 the dash overlay. I've had mine on for around 15 years and it hasn't cracked yet.

Sparky,
I just finished installing the complete dash cover on my 78 B with one from VB. You strip off the old dash cover and reglue the new cover in place. The cover must be glued in the exactly proper position for the gauges and glove box to fit, I ensured this by cutting out two of the small gauge holes (on the top and bottom) and installed the gauges before the glue set to pull it in line. Used 3M trim adheasive for the glue. When you strip the old cover off you will see that the metal dash panel and the hard foam around the glove box and center vent will be left (do not remove) After the pad is glued in place then you must fold the edges around the outside and glue them in place. (small spring clamps help hold while glue dries) Use an exacto knife to trim out the areas that hold the remaining gauges, center vent and glove box and you are done. The finished produce looks like a brand new dash and is well worth the time and hassle to fit.
