Hi everyone, this is my first post. I am currently restoring my 1970 GT6+, and I am just reinstalling the dash pad and the wood dash. I have redone the dash and pad. Because this project is taking longer then I originally thought, five years to be exact, I have forgotten some details. When I fit the wood dash pieces to the metal, there is a 3/8" gap between the pad and the top of the wood. There are slotted holes in the metal all along this gap. Is there a trim piece that is supposed to go here? I have not changed the size of the wood pieces, just reveneered them. The dash pad had been covered by someone in the past, so I just removed the foam and vinyl they had put over the original, fixed the cracks and heat shrinked new vinyl over the moulded original dash pad. I can't find a good closeup picture of an original dash to see if I am missing something. Anybody have any insight?
