Anyone else heading to Macungie PA for this event on August 3, 4, and/or 5. I have my TR3B entered for the Saturday event and hope to see some other BCF members in attendance. Hemmings weekly newsletter just called this the best family car show, and it is always fun. There is a free antique toy show on Saturday morning. Check it out at https://www.awkscht.com/ .

Went once years ago. Wish I could go again.

Bruce

I'll be there but only with my Volvo 1800ES. The Spit is STILL in pieces and I'm not happy.

I've been going to this show as a spectator for years and always love it. This will be my third year bringing my own car in there. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Robyn,
I always loved the 1800ES, but only have driven them in HO scale on my slot car track. As long as the weather is good, I will have my TR3B "Fagin" in only his second appearance since he moved to PA. I have been attending the shows the last few years, but this will probably be the first one where I have missed the Toy Show on Saturday to have a car on display. Hope to see you there.

You won't be able to miss me. I'm the only 1800 (coupe or wagon) that ever shows up and one of only maybe 3 Volvos in the entire show! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Wish we could bring the Spitfire too but it's just not meant to be this year. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cryin.gif

A friend of mine from Macungie is currently working on the remains of the Jensen Healey he has in his barn, but is considering putting the drive train from one of his spare 1800 coupes into the Jensen for reliability if he gets it back together. He lives 1 or 2 miles south of the show grounds on Rt 100, but I don't think he has ever shown any of his cars anywhere.

Hi Folks;

Well; I`m certainly going to be there but not with My TR4A (Sold & is being picked-up this wk):

I have a friend in Allentown who recently purchased a Super Nice Morgan + 4 / 2 Seater that I will be coming in: She`s Old English White w/Red Int: "Really Nice Show Winner Quality":

I don`t suspect I`ll have a New LBC by that time, But Who knows?

Russ,
I will be watching for you riding in the beautiful Morgan. The weather forecast makes me pretty certain the I will be driving to the show in the TR3B as well.
Latest forecast is: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 90s.
Sounds hot but that is okay. Looking forward to seeing you there...

Hi There Dave;

I was just looking at the Weather forecast for Fri. Not looking too good; "WET"!

Sat & Sun is looking Really Good though:

Hope to see You & Your TR3B;

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Although it was extremely hot, it was a fun day at Das Awkscht Fescht today. My TR3B was parked just a few cars from Jerseygirl's fantastic Volvo 1800ES. She was there early and had a great location in the shade. I only saw 2 other Triumphs there, a TR4 and a TR6. Not a lot of British cars at all but some other very intesting cars running around including a Stanley Steamer, a Frasier Darren, and a Detroit Electric. I think that most of the 1300 entries did appear at the show as the fields were very full. A great show for any car fanatic.
Photos are here.

Just got home from PA. Another great Awkscht Fescht even if it was a tad on the hot side. At least there was no rain!!

It was nice to put faces to some names around here and maybe next year the Spitfire will actually make the trip out there too.

Dave, I forgot to ask you... Since you're relatively close by, are you planning to join us for my Jim Thorpe Classic Run next month? https://millpondminis.com/JTCR.html

I was there about 5 years ago. What a beautiful place for a show. I can still smell the great foods they were cooking there. I don't know what I liked best, the food or the cars! Well, I guess the cars would come out on top!
