Humor me, but I'm fairly chuffed here with this buy....

(sorry for a essentially duplicate post as over on the MG forum, but I'm a little excited right now...)

It is English so there can't be a dark side. That would be french or italian.
And Im envious:smile:

well actually it still has Lucas so you are one poorly designed fuse away from the dark side. I like it, esp if there was a way to stick a rover V8 in it.... well it is pretty solid looking, has a coolness factor, is relatively rare...

If I was to purchase another LBC, the MGA would most likely be at the top of the list. As a matter of fact, I've thought about what project I might be interested in after I'm done with the TR3, and the MGA came to mind first.

Good choice. It looks like a fun project. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Hmmm, mind telling us what barn it was found in ? I have a friend who basically abandoned several MGAs in a rented barn in TX back about 20 years ago ... his main car was red but one of the parts cars might have been white.

And it says something about my opinion of MGAs that I've never even been to the barn, even though he would probably have given me any car I wanted when his brother lost his lease. Just no comparison to a TR3, IMO.

I actually bought this from a local specialist, the car was blue at some point but not sure of her original color Randall.

I think I'm going to cannibalize my 1968 MGB-GT for her drive train. It has rust in the wrong places (if I'm being honest with myself) but the motor and transmission and differential are all solid.

I was planning on doing quick rust treatment to try and preserve her, but just stick her in the garage for the next 10 years until I get around to her.

What do you guys think?

I see that it has Texas Plates...Did it come from Foat Wuth? An old school chum's sister owned a white coupe back in the early 60's. Sat beside their house for YEARS. Wouldn't that be a coinsidence?
Take care Bob

looks good, piece a cake to make a driver out of it.Its got a 61/62 MK11 grill, and the dash looks a little funky, but it appears to be a good starting point.

Fabulous! What a super little MG.

Hay! Us Italian car folks are lurking here too! Can't we all just get along. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

BTW, would love to own an MGA! I think I'd prefer one with an engine though!

you're missing some essential parts. Just hope you did not buy it as "in excellent driving condition" ....

I always liked the MGA coupe because it was a slight step up from the convertible. It has wind up windows correct?

errrr,... its "the no engine".

Yes, I was refering to the fact that the car tdskip bought features a very, uh... clean... engine bay. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

You get a pass on this one. MGA coupes are special...
