Called and the guy said "oh it just sold this morning." I think it had been in the paper for a few days.

Dang!!!
 
Same thing happened to me last year. Saw an ad on AutoTrader.com for a '66 Sunbeam Tiger located 5 blocks from my house. I had seen the car sitting in the owner's garage several years earlier and loved it (powder blue, alloy wheels, lots of LAT parts). I immediately called him but he had sold it the day before to a guy from Dallas--sight unseen--for $14,000! The owner didn't even try to sell it locally because he thought the market would be too small. Arrrrrgh! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif
