Damper prior to visit to Damper Dudes

Any chance they can tell you how many degrees it was off?

Good question. If they indeed have factory specs, and record what you sent in, I would think they would tell you the difference if any.
 
I don't know if they take the time to record what you sent in. I think that they just get them in, tear them down, strip the parts and lay in the sealer. Then the bake to solidify the insulator, paint it and ship it.

None of the pictures that I took reflect that angle.

Oh well. It will be a new setup on the new engine, so it doesn't matter.

And I wouldn't change the timing on a good running engine to satisfy a degree wheel number.

You should never trust the factory mark on the damper anyway. Find TDC on the compression stroke of the number 1 cylinder and mark it with a paint marker. Anyway if there is a difference between the two, chances are the rubber is deteriorating causing it to slip.
