Early reports were a Chinese built SUV was leading with three four-wheel drive Minis following, but there are days of racing left (the "Minis" are actually rebodied, tube-frame BMW X3 diesel racers from a previous event).

Probably never again in Africa.

Al Qaeda started taking pot-shots at the racers a few years ago. That ended it.
