From the DLOC-NA newsletter, one of our long-time members has decided to sell his collection of sedans. I have seen a few of these at our annual meeting/shows, and they were driven there. The cars are in storage in NJ; send me a PM if you have serious interest & I will furnish contact info for him. Pricing is only available from him. Many of these cars were purchased when he was working in London (at least one from the owner of Harrods).
1936 Lanchester 11
1937 Lanchester 18 coachbuilt sedan
1939 Daimler Van den Plas sedan, low mileage
1950 Daimler Consort, used by Queen Elizabeth when she was young
1953 Daimler Empress, 68k
1953 Daimler Empress, preserved original condition
1955 Daimler DK400 Hooper bodied limo
1956 Daimler Century, restored at some time
1963 Daimler Majestic LHD; only 2 known to exist

and from another member, a 1954 DJ252 Conquest Century Coupe, needs some work on bonnet & interior, $12,500

I expect pictures of the models can be found in an online search.

sigh..... :cryin:

JP- I can get it delivered to the Bronte Park show in Sept. for you. I'm sure he'd be glad to give one a little run for fun. :jester::jester:

I'll be there!

SWMBO figures I should get rid of the Vauxhall (which she really doesn't like - I think because it is Dukes of Hazzard Orange) and get a limo to drive the nieces and nephews to their respective proms- and of course my own kids to the church on time (which gives lots of time to restore....) I know I don't have deep enough pockets.

That said, and seriously now (for interests sake) it would be lovely if you could post pictures, and, ballpark - what are cars like that actually worth? Any time I have ever looked online in UK, cars like Lanchesters don't fetch the dollars Rollers and Bentleys do - in part (I think) because they aren't always as pretty in terms of proportions. Of course another reason is they just are not as well known and parts will be harder, but, generally, anyone know what these puppies might fetch?

Sounds like a neat collection, but I'll bet the market for them over here isn't very strong...

But I'd love to see them, we have our big British/Euro show in July here in hinterland... :rolleye:

Hey ! Dart have you told those buggers in England about these cars???--Hersh
