I need a new convertible top for one.

Me too, and if you haven't found a source I'm not likely to either. Do you have the old one for pattern?? I was figuring on stripping mine off the frame and having a top shop (top, not chop) use it to make a new one. I'm a few months away so could ship/loan you mine if it would be of help.

I have the old one - it looks new but water goes right through it!! Have a source in the UK that can make one for about 400pounds. Was hoping to find one in the US.

Oh, do you know in what other applications the Salisbury rear end was used? I know about the Morgan - but was it used in any Jags?

You know as much as I do about the rear applications, I would suggest speaking with John Carey or Bob Santoro (if Bob is still around). BTW, Carey had tops in stock as late as 2002, I haven't tried him recently.

Oh Oh...breaking news!!!! northeastbritishparts.com lists tops (black only) for 583. and fit kit for 45. Pricey but less than UK.
They have a sp250 section on the website. If you order one, please PM me with details/result.

Greetings.... Are you certain the Daimler and Morgan use the same Salisbury rear? There were 3 different ones used in Morgans until the late 90's when they went to one from Australia called a BTR. They are currently available very pricey. Tim(who has 2 Morgans and an SP250)

Not sure about the rear end, that's our porblem...but we did find a top in the UK that's on its way here!

I'm still waiting on the exact cost but it was around 300 pounds plus air freight

Well, here's the final price: $500 Eeverflex vinyl; $700 Mohair; shipping $80

We went with mohair...the guy in the UK is Barry Thorne (07885 882416)& he pretty much has every part for an SP250.

thank you very much for that info, btw- I found adding a zip-out rear window really helps when running top up but neeeding air flow to move heat out.
Is Barry located near where you will be scouting mg parts this summer??

Don't know but I plan on dropping by if he's anywhere near...that's the thing about going to the UK to scout parts - you never know where you'll end up!
