Yes, yes , we know you know how to 'French' taillights and antenna's, but did ya have to install three? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

My fav part is the exhaust, you have two extra pipes on the drivers side for that BMC rally look (or if you needed an emergency roadside repair, should you have ripped off the OE stuff on a speed bump). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

A for effort, F for, well just because..

If it were a horse someone would have shot it by now.
It's a crule world isn't it.

Three people have made six offers on it, all declined.

If its guts are healthy it might not be too bad as the base for a restoration project.

Mine was a lot worse, and much, much cheaper....

though that snazzy argyll paint scheme would be kind of Scottish....

[/ QUOTE ]That's kinda how I saw it too. Looks like everything modified can be unbolted. The price would have to be right though...

edit: Is my memory fading, or did the buy it now price come down considerably?

Er, I think it did, but....
As I recall it started out at $15K
When I posted the observation about the deckined "offers" it seemed to have dropped to $8K.
But I just looked again and its now back up to $15K....

The listing's been revised, but it isn't clear to me whether the notes on the revisions show all the changes and when they happened, or just the latest ones....

Say James, that's quite a nice website you've got there. I haven't noticed anyone else remark on it, but all should take a good look. Very well done!

And please tell me, on what do you lecture at univeristy? (Perhaps Adam Smith economics? The last word on the subject if you ask me!)

Thanks for your comments on my site. I'm about to update it after most of a summer's work and a little progress too.

I lecture on operations management and my specializations are project management and the history of production management (Henry Ford's a particular interest).

WOW, don't know if I should laugh or cry at that one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif
It does hurt to look at it. Maybe I'll buy it and take it to the next Healey meet just for grins, may even win an ISCA modified award whatever that is? The seat backs do look a little large though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/square.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

If you can see through all the garbage, it would actually be a good restoration project! Although there was a comment in the ad about "all the original body panels are intact and undamaged beneath the paint" that can't be with all the holes cut into the panels for frenched garbage. imagine how great the 8-track player sounds with 3 antennas though! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif

I saw this car up close and personal this afternoon:

The Capital Area AH Club had an event today and two guys showed up with the car on an open trailer to "share" it with us and see if they could get an idea what it was worth. One of the fellows told me that it was owned by his Uncle who has cancer, etc. and that he turned down an $8,000.00 offer off the ebay auction, feeling that it had a lot of value as a "time capsule". I suggested that they were in the wrong time zone and that his Uncle should find that prospect and sell it. It looks about as bad in person as it did online.
