I think I may have asked this once before, but the "specs" on my custom cam (the PO's) say that valve lash in .016 in the intake and .018 on the exhaust. The intake opens at 20 and closes at 60, and the exhaust is just the reverse. Valve lift is 271 with exhaust at 110 degrees BTDC, and intake at 110 ATDC. The exhaust closes at 3 degrees BTDC, and the intake opens at 3 degrees ATDC.

Should any of this cause me to tune my car differently from the directives of the shop manual?

To really do it right, you probably need to run it on a dyno with an exhaust analyzer, so you can swap needles around to correct the mixture profile and find the optimum ignition advance curve.

But most likely, it will run pretty good with the stock settings for mixture and timing. I'm guessing it won't want to idle at 600 rpm though, so you'll probably need to turn that up a bit.
