Description:

This spitfire is a perfect candidate for a winter restoration project! I purchased this LBC a few years ago from its 2nd owner, who is a family friend and has owned it since 1978, and it has been sitting in my shop ever since. It has been garage kept its entire life and has no signs of significant rust damage to the body or frame and only one spot on the right rear wheel arch that has minor damage. The wheel arches have been custom molded with fiberglass to give it a wider, more aggressive look. I have 3 large totes of NOS (new old stock) parts that have never been used and will be included in the sale. I purchased this car to restore but shortly after I brought it home I was in a bad work related accident and had to go through nearly 2 years of physical therapy to put myself back together. I planned to do the majority of the restoration work myself as it has been a hobby of mine for many years. Unfortunately I still suffer from chronic pain on a daily basis and feel that it’s too large of an undertaking for me at this point. I decided to purchase a TR6 that was further along in the restoration process and put the Spitfire up for sale. I hate to see it just sit here and deteriorate! It is time for it to find another happy home where someone has the time and ability to rebuild it to its former glory. In its day, this was a beautiful custom classic that won many “British Car Day” events and I have the trophies to prove it. It will definitely take sometime and money to get it to where it needs to be..I understand this and feel I am selling it for a very reasonable price to allow plenty of room in a normal restoration budget to make that happen.

For more information, additional photos, or any questions/concerns please contact me and I would be glad to provide anything I can.
