Curious holes?

Just for curiosity sake.

I am slowly removing all of DPO Pedro's flaking
off engine compartment paint. Bluufff, it takes forever
to get into all the tiny nooks and crannies down to bare
metal.

Anyway, I find odd things as I go along. Here is one.
I have 4 each 3/8" diameter holes thru the driver's
tire well. Can anyone tell me what used to be there
that is NOT there anymore? Some item must have been
thru-bolted?

Just curious, no big deal.

Looks like it was an aftermarket anti-theft system. No doubt, it had one of those big chrome sirens that were popular in the 70's. You should also be finding a lot of hacked into wires that some go to nowhere? My Blazer had a crazy non working alarm with a big horn in it when I bought it. It was all taken out by my mechanic, but I left the cool kill switch that was also installed. No thief would ever find the switch itself. I found it completely by accident.
