I want to upgrade my stock distributor to an improved one. I am thinking of purchasing a CSI distributor, and they have two different kinds: standard and their Pro series. My '67 BJ8 is stock except for being bored .060 over.

Thoughts, advice, and experiences are welcomed.
 
After receiving info via emails, I have decided to go with the “standard” CSI distributor.
 
I considered this upgrade but decided to give Advanced Distributers a go. Car has never run better so I can imagine what a properly tuned CSI might do.

I had Advanced Distributors rebuild my original several years ago, but I believe that the CSI will even be better from endorsements from CSI users.
 
I switched from 123 ignition to the CSI Pro, mainly because my old 123 didn’t have vacuum advance.
I know 123 also offers vacuum versions, but mine didn’t have that.
And I like the flexibility of having 2 independent programable curves for my mildly tuned engine because of different gas types in Europe.
Even though the 123 worked fine, the vacuum advance does make a big difference during little throttle and cruising in regards of throttle response and mpg.
 
I run the CSI Special with 16 different individual curve settings on my '57 100-6MM vintage racer.
 
I'm running the CSI standard with vacuum advance - from Denis Welch. Something like 12 curves to pick from. Plus it's built on a 25D distributor body, so I can use the same cap, rotor and wires as my previous 22D. Easy to change curves with supplied screwdriver. Visually the same as stock Lucas.

I bought it because I'm running Mikuni HSR 45s which have manifold vacuum. The CSI works with either ported or manifold vacuum.
