Crypt Clutch 2nd Look-see

Dale,

Nice job so far. Just continue on this path of one project at a time and you'll do just fine. As you complete each of these steps, it will get you so much closer to just installing the tranny with David and you'll be amazed how much faster it will go with two people working together.

I'll be out on the road tomorrow, but I think that you should start the throttle bushing project and have that completed over the weekend, so there is no time wasted. You can do that so easily, with the tranny and battery out of the way, by just following the instructions that I sent to you. One to one and a half hours, max, with the Crypty factor included.

BTW, what happened with my request for details about what you need for brake lines? I just spoke to Dan at TRF (4:30PM) and he said that Dave is back and he is bending the lines from the master down to the valve along with all of the others. I suggest that you get him on the phone and get the line that you need sent down so that you and David can button that job up as well. Two guys for bleeding brakes and a clutch is the perfect scenario.

DNK- Thanks for back pat. Appreciated.

I use Adobe Photoshop elements, $120 here.

The new dash was my design and I had it cut and
shaped from local island teak wood. Solid 5/8" thickness.

I kinda like it myself.

Dale,

Looks nice, and ain't it a good feeling doing it yourself? Just one note on the lock wire (#3). A properly installed locking wire (aka safety wire) will prevent the bolt from loosening. That is as the bolt attempts to unscrew the lock wire tightens to prevent it. I have attached a web page that gives basic instruction on how to install lock wires.

Basic lock wire.

OT,

Nice post. It will make a fine bookmark under "Technical Articles"

"Crypt Car..The Movie"

Two scripts possible:

"Cruisin' the Beach highway"

or

"The Crusher vrs Crypty"

Dale, looks good from here, but only 1/2 inch travel seems a bit small, look again and see if you get closer to 3/4 to 1 inch full back and forward.

General Dave has Landed on the beach

It will be a bloody fight for sure.

Looking at Dave's left hand, it appears that you two are off to a good start!

Good luck....

Dang it all!!

Just sat down to dinner with David and one
of Wendy's gourmet meals.

DING DONG!! Front door bells rings.
Better answers it; might be important.

It was. Thanks much Paul. After 14 months-

Thank goodness those arrived while David is there. Now that issue can be put to bed as well. Rear wheel cylinder, here they come.

One more solid punch at Crypty before the battle even heats up in the morning!!!

I'm still worried that Crypty has that ace in
the hole-
DPO Pedro's starter motor.

I have the 2 1/2 gallons of DOT 3 brake fluid
and 2 1/2 gallons of 80-90 tranny fluid so we are
good there. Laid in an additional assortment of
different lengths #8 bolts for the tranny to engine.
New tranny mounts, spare plugs and spare coil.

We have our Fighting Battle Gear loaded into
the Grey Ghost and are now leaving to do Battle
with the Crypt

God's Speed be with us.

Once more into the breach! Take no prisoners, guys!

A bad day with the Triumph is still better than a good day at work!
Looks like you are prepared.
Good luck keep us posted!

I'm looking forward to a lunch time update. Sort of the "News at 12:00", if you will..........

Actually 8:00 for you left coast guys...Puerto Rico is an hour before us east coast guys. I would assume we're talking local island time. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
