Crypt Car Update

8 months ago yesterday, my wife bought me
the fully restored 1969ish TR6.

8 months ago today it broke down.

So it is fitting I post a few photos of the
progress I have made toward bringing this once
fine auto back to life.

Progress that absolutely would not have been possible
without all the generous help I have received here
from so many total strangers.

Today was a really upbeat day for me. Almost all
evidence of the #^#!#!! PO is finally gone. Almost
all the stupid decals and worn out stripes.

Today I finally claimed the TR as mine. It has
my character and my spirit. Today, all 4 wheels
were on the garage floor; my custom carved teak
dash is wired and lighted and gauged and ready
to install.

Today, I closed the hood and the trunk and spent
the morning polishing the entire car. Then I took a
few photos of MY TR6.

Here are some photos of 8 months labor:

Could not have been possible without everyone's help.
I am a know nothing about mechanics owner.

Thanks as always,

dale

Re: Crypt Car Update

Dale,

You knew enough to ask the right questions and follow advice. That make you a wise man indeed.

Re: Crypt Car Update

Nice Job Dale! Congratulations!

I am partial to Pimento Red! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Crypt Car Update

Tinster
very nice. It's a good feeling when it all comes together. I can see you need some solid timber door top rails to compliment your dash.
I'm just finishing off my drivers door rail. I'm also going to make solid timber tips for the column stalks (indicator/overdrive/etc) to replace the cracking plastic ones.

Craig

Re: Crypt Car Update

Great work and excellent documentation. I've enjoyed your tips that you've shared with the forum. Once you've got it on the road, driving it often is good for both the car and your soul.

Re: Crypt Car Update

Hola TR674,

I agree with you on the timber door top rails.
The gentleman who cut my dash has offered to give
it a go at carving the top rails.

Have you any photos of your finished rails??

thanks,

D
