I am having a new dash board made for my TC along with all the guages rebuilt, center peice refinished, and a bunch of other things done to make it perfect. I've sent it all to Ohio and plan to drive down to pick it up when the work is done. My question comes when I have to get back into Canada with this complete dashboard in my car, I'll have a receipt for it(value marked down)and I am wondering if the officials are going to worry about the value much or not....I've heard some stories about them being pretty picky when bringing complete cars through(hence the reason i always use a transport company for that), but I haven' heard anything about large parts?
 
I found this site but make sure your pop-up blocker is on and you have adobe reader, or you can call 1-800-461-9999 in Canada it's the border information service. Basically it says to make sure you declare everything first and worry about paying for it secondly. There are also additional charges if you live in or enter through certain provinces of Canada that have additional importation taxes. I was but a lad when I crossed over into Canada for the first time and I remember distinctly the attitude of the customs inspectors. They kind of make you want to confess all just by the way they look at you.

I have had no problem bring things into the US. None a lot of shopping in the past in Vancouver. Toilets, big ticket items. No cars as of yet.
