Cripty now has over 5K unaventful miles and runs and drives like a champ.

Greetings all,

I think we are prepared for the Tropical Storm Erika,
They now put the eye of the storm directly over Bayamon,
(our neighborhood) at 8:00 AM Friday. Oh Joy.

We've spent the past two days getting ready. Outdoor furniture
all moved to safe terraces, all large potted pants moved to near walls,
all three cars filled with gas; 2 cases bottled water, case of cokes;
a gallon of boxed milk, a cooler filled with ice cubes,
hurricane lamps spread throughout every room and tested,
about 50 extra batteries, the required 100 rolls of toilet paper
Propane for the Coleman stove for cooking. Swimming pool spotless
since we will lose our water supply and have to use the pool water
to refill the toilets.

Plenty of food for cats and fish. Plenty of easy food for us.
The Jeep Wrangler buttoned up and headed downhill, outside.

I could not resist! I fired up Amos the Triumph TR6 and took
him for a short spin between rain burst. Amos wants to run, I can feel
it in him. We wants to stretch his legs on the expressway.

It's getting fairly windy now, off/on showers for now. The heavy
stuff expected around 6:00 PM.

I'm gonna go sit in AC and put phone Nos in my new cellular.

We hope to be broadcasting tomorrow!!

Hi Jack !!

Now that you let the cat ot of the bag , so to speak;
I guess I better fess up.

Yes, it will one year next week since my car had it's last
breakdown and rode home on the flatbed. Some minor tuning
stuff, routine maintenance but the biggest improvement was
I sent my dizzy back to Advanced Distributors and Jeff
installed one of his new high quality red rotors and heavy
duty points. Instant smooth running engine. I have been
driving the car alot. Just about 5,000 miles driven since
the flatbed ride home. Amos made it home every other run!!

Last week I finished the final major maintenance item.
I installed new crankshaft thrust bearings and got my endfloat
down from .012" to .007". The car is running very well indeed.

Here's a short video clip of the first trial run with the
new thrust bearings. And NO! The oil pan does not leak.

I hope you're well and happy Jack!

Dale, glad you are enjoying the car as it was intended to be enjoyed!

Wait......if it isn't leaking SOMEWHERE, something's WRONG!! LOL

Congrats Dale for toughing it out and congrats Wendy for toughing it out too!

We are so glad to hear that at is well, Dale!
David is presently "between jobs" waiting to start his new career in a couple of weeks, so he has taken advantage of the down time and has been out in the garage every day reassembling our B! After two years we have forgotten a lot and let many of the parts become scattered. This makes for very slow progress on reassembly. He swears this car is fighting him at every turn of the wrench.
But in two days, he has gotten a lot done. Another week and we may actually be ready to fire it up for the first time.
The only thing that stinks is that all this is being done while I am at work...it's like taking it to someone to have the work done. aah, but a long weekend is ahead and we will be able to work together for the next couple of days.
Batten down those hatches and stay safe!
