Criminal!!

I'm torn between the desire to see it restored while also wishing to see it put out of its misery.

Mike

I once bid on a midget for several parts. Rear valance Some quarter pieces and the drive train. (Was a 72 RWA I believe) Auction read, 90 % complete, missing seats and lights.

Well the pics were distanced from the car and taken in shade so any reasonable viewer espects the tub was fairly solid. Bid it to $800. Drove 8 hours to pick it up. Well after $200 in gas What I found was truely a dissapointing pile of scrap. Absolutely no Pan was left just a remant that used to be the trans tunnel. No interior parts, dash gauges, wheels, trim Door glass, radiator, The oil pan was rotted threw on the motor. Every square inch of the car was dented. It looked as if someone took a sledge hammer to the whole car and was surely missing well over 50% of its parts. Needless to say I drove off and took the negative feedback. YUK!

Dont forget though guys eBay is not to blame, there are plenty of great deals to be had. (Ive capped a few) just look out for dishonesty and scams as in everything else.

I saw that one listed last week when I saw the Luxury sports car listed for 5,000.00.

That was a tough one to look at.

My father was taken for $4000.00 from a scam in Romania. Two weeks later an other freind of mine was also duped from Romania. Watching the news some of these 3rd word countries make a living off trying to scam Americans on the internet. Its sad.

Every time I see a car like that, I remind myself that, at one time, it was a shiny, sexy, new car sitting in a dealer's showroom. What happened? It got to be a few years old, developed a problem, was parked beside the barn, sat there a few years while the owner procrastinated about fixing it, it started to leak, rust, and....you know the rest of the story.

Criminal? Yeah, I'll go with that.

The problem is folks think they are the owners when they are really the custodians. Got to save something for our grandchildren to fun with.

HEY! I recognize that one! It appears to be one of the Bugeyes that part of an estate sale up near the finger lakes area of NY a few weeks ago. The guy had a ton of bugeyes and spridget parts tucked away in a barn. I wanted to go to the estate sale, but it was too far and I couldn't make it. The few bugeyes that were outside were in bad shape (this one) but some in the garage looked good. I just wrote to the seller to find out if he bought it all.

hmmm.

Think Spritenut got a couple.
